Tinctures,
the concentrated herbal extracts made by soaking the bark, berries, dried or
fresh leaves, and roots from single or multiple plants in alcohol or vinegar. A
drop of River oil-soluble flavor seals the deal.
For over a
thousand years, they get utilized as traditional herbal medicines, and an
estimated 80 percent of the world relies on these treatments for at least some
of the healthcare. So, today we decided to break down the simplest way to make
a tincture.
Step 1: Find the
plants or herbs you’d like to use. Make sure to take only parts of the plant
that are safe for usage.
Step 2: Fill-up
the two-third of the jar with chopped fresh leaves, halfway with dried leaves,
tree bark, berries, or roots and repeat the rest one-fourth with the mixture of
all ingredients.
Step 3: Pour
grain alcohol, 40 to 70 percent over the herbs, covering them completely till
the top.
Step 4: Add 4 to
6 drops of OS Flavors based on
total mixture and cover the jar with parchment paper and then screw on a metal
lid.
Step 5: Let the
tincture sit for at least 6 to 8 weeks
Step 6: Place the
cheesecloth over a funnel onto another jar and pour the mixture through. The
strained liquid is the final mixture. Store it in a cool and dark place to hold
on to it for years.
Bottom line
Use these
simple steps to create the next batch of the medicinal tincture.
